Vine Stafford

Salter St, Stafford ST16 2JU, UK – 01785 244112

Absolutely lovely place! Charming little hotel, Tudor build, the rooms are very clean and plenty big enough, not huge but ample size. Very central location for Stafford without being noisy. More importantly, the staff couldn't be more helpful. It was our eldest turned 18 whilst we stayed here, on the morning of her birthday we came downstairs to "happy 18th banners", balloons, stars on the table and a card from the staff. They also have a complimentary bottle of bubbly on ice for her. All of this has actually made her day and made her cry because she's so touched by their kindness and generosity. It doesn't end there, they have twice printed things off for us, politely and with a smile. Can't recommend highly enough!

Pretty nice place. It's right next to the city centre, which is convinient. It's got a pretty distinctive style to it. The room was comfortable. Not fancy or luxurious by any means, but quaint and homey. The pub looks great as well, but I didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food. Overall it's a great place to spend a couple nights.

The Swan Hotel

46a Greengate St, Stafford ST16 2JA, UK – 01785 258142

Best restaurant in Stafford. Unfortunately also the most expensive, but you get what you pay for. Often have midweek nights that a more affordable without dropping the quality. Lovely place for just a drink too.

Great hotel / restaurant in the centre of Stafford. We love going for a late breakfast, it just sets you up for the day, or go for a long leisurely lunch. The food is really good and tastes amazing.

Travelodge Stafford Central

The Hough Retail Park, Lichfield Rd, Stafford ST17 4LU, UK – 0871 984 6361

Great location close to Stafford town and friendly staff working on reception. Room equipped with a bed, two chairs and bathroom. Only complaint is no sockets located by the sides of the bed otherwise happy with the room. Good location to Stafford town and easy to get to.

Basic hotel. If you are looking forward something to have a mattress and nothing else, this will do. It's cost effective but you do not get any AC, fridge, iron etc Location very good so there are places to eat near the hotel. Staff was very friendly

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Market Vaults

4 St Martins Pl, Stafford ST16 2LA, UK – 01785 256126

Great little pub in Stafford. They have a good selection of draft beers and an even wider selection in bottles. Their food is great, but the kitchen is closed on Sundays. Some of the best burgers in Stafford. They also frequently have live music on with local bands. It's also dog friendly and there are plenty of seats inside

Always a favourite for a quiet pint every now and then in the afternoon, with a great atmosphere of an evening. Does great burgers, though I believe there's going to be new management later this year (August '18?) which means the burgers might stop which is a pity.

The Butler's Bell

23-27 Gaolgate St, Stafford ST16 2NT, UK – 01785 785290

One of my favourite places for food in Stafford. Food always cooked to perfection. Friendly staff. I love to go there in the winter time as there's real fireplace to keep you warm and cosy. Highly recommended.

Brilliant spoons. Light bright and good beer garden . Actually has good staff and team leaders and great food. Well re Commended

Bod Stafford

57 – 59 Bodmin Ave, Stafford ST17 0EF, UK – 01785 661506

First visit & very enjoyable too. Asked about the cider & the barmaid kindly gave me a sample to try. Lovely place, great atmosphere & very friendly staff. Definitely will pay another visit soon.

Very nice atmosphere, not as crowded as when it first opened. Friday and Saturday nights can be hectic, but the crowds disperse by 9.00. The staff are excellent , friendly and knowledgeable. Food also worth trying. Toilets are a bit sparse.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!
